São Paulo, SP (FOLHAPRESS) – Confusion between candidates for the Federal Deputy MP Guilherme Boulos (PSOL) and members of the MBL (Movement for Free Brazil) has ended in finger-pointing between the groups.
MBL members accused the candidate and his team of attacking a 15-year-old in the group. The leader claimed the militants used minors to provoke the candidate’s team and then falsely accused him.
The military police attempted to “illegally arrest the deputy candidate,” according to Bloth’s team.
A video by MBL members shows the boy approaching, filming his face and questioning why Blois is defending a dictatorship like Cuba. After that, the camera started shaking and it was impossible to determine what was going on.
Another video uploaded by the group showed someone pushing and then punching the young man. MBL showed a photo of a boy with bruises on his face.
The militants then called police. In the face of Bloth’s refusal to be taken into custody, according to a statement from his team, “Police physically attacked left-wing militants and used pepper spray.”
The arrest attempt lasted about 30 minutes, but was finally aborted with the intervention of lawyer Ariel de Castro Alves and Augusto de Arruda Botelho, a candidate for federal representation of the PSB.
“I spoke with the gendarmerie in charge of the incident. They wanted to arrest Gulherme Boulos. I said no, it was illegal,” the lawyer said.
In a video, MBL member Beraldo, a candidate for federal deputy MP, said the teenager’s mother called police. “When you attacked the whole gang around you, you attacked a 15-year-old boy, you were macho. Now come and be macho with the police and go to the police station with his mother to file a complaint against you”, in the video candidate said.
